Declutter to De-Stress – The Before {Video}

by Donna on November 11, 2010

“I’m so busy.”

– Words most moms say. I’ve been murmuring them all week.

I can honestly say that Yes, I HAVE been busy. Don’t believe me? Take a look:

  • First of all, I own a Virtual Assisting business, although it’s fairly new I  have a hand full of clients. What’s been keeping me so busy is that with new clients comes a learning curve and getting to know the new clients business is crucial.
  • I just landed my first freelance job doing some design work for a new personal chef business; designing business cards and a website.
  • I’ve offered to help 2 online friends with their blogs- moving them over to WordPress or fixing really weird issues they were having.
  • I work part-time nights in retail.
  • I decided to redesign my own blog and now was the “right” time (yep, grrreeat timing!)  and it’s not going as smooth as I had hoped.
  • We have a pile of medical bills to figure out.
  • I have 2 children who need to be loved, fed, clothed, taught and entertained.
  • I have one sweet husband who enjoys dinner every now and then.
  • Oh and I should probably clean at some point.

I think it’s easy to complain that we’re busy but often we are struggling with feeling overwhelmed.

Last night I think I figured out a major player in this whole “drama”

Watch this video and I think you’ll understand why I may be feeling so stressed…

Now, the mess is not 100% of where my stress is coming from. I’m aware that my priorities are out of whack and I’m working on that. I’ve been reading and implementing ideas from Amy Andrews new E-book:

I love before and afters!

We just bought a new video camera (the size of a cell phone) called the Kodak Play Sport – and I fully intend to use it for vlogging — someday! LOL Right now I’m blog is filled with other things going on! Lovely giveaways and some reviews, etc.

Come the new year, I’m going to have an awesome little series on habits – once a week for the entire year (at least). I’m really looking forward to it – already have some goals written down to begin!

Actually, I’ll be writing several posts on it BEFORE it all begins in December (I should write up a quick blogging schedule, LOL).

I love your vlogs and I can’t wait to see the after!! (By the way, that built in book shelf is super awesome. I am offically jealous of it AND the super awesome pen/marker collection that you have going on!)

I think that clutter and messiness is something all struggle with, but I especially loved your comment that it is easy to say we are busy, but not so easy to admit when we are overwelmed. Nicely said, Donna.

I have a college girl friend who has a blog dedicated to organizing and cleaning up her house. It is a fun read when you need a motivational kick in the pants.

Plus Amy’s Finer things has been trying to cut clutter out her home each month. She has an amazing goal of over 700 items to get out by the end of the year.

I bring up those to blogs to say, “YOU CAN DO IT!” And you better blog about it while you do because I LOVE reading it! :)

My work area is just like this! There is evidence there that I intended for it to be nice and organized yet…

That’s what my workspace looks like! That’s part of why I never get anything done because I spend my time cleaning it up with no time left to create. We have been getting rid of a TON of stuff. Can’t wait to see your after videos!
